What’s important to know about Brian? That depends on who you ask; are you after the inner being that makes a person? Or is it a flashy resume that you seek?
I’m personally always amazed by feats and accomplishments on paper, web, or flier that create a written person whom I immediately admire; yet I can’t seem to connect the written image created to the actual person once we meet. So, what do I know about diamonds? Don’t they come from Antwerp?
So what makes up Brian on the inside? Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, and Compassion are guiding concepts to what I do every day. I might tell you things you don’t want to hear. However, I promise that it’s from my heart. I listen to what’s on someone’s mind and hear the objective that they are trying to achieve. When it’s appropriate, my sense of humor brings out laughter that’s akin to a comedy show. So what do I know about Diamonds? Why should I know about Diamonds? I'm a Financial Services Professional. But, all of that is just part of the man in the purple tie.
I grew up racing bicycles and playing soccer. As my professional career grew, I lost the time for racing a
bicycle but always remained in cycling. I later got turned onto motorcycles and now instruct for Motocorsa
Ducati at Portland International Raceway. I have returned to bicycle racing for the Bicycle Attorney
Cycling Team and mainly road race.
I have a wonderful family. I have a fabulous sister and a great brother. My Dad has six brothers and sisters.
I come from a family of over 60 members. We are incredibly close. I’m as close to my 13 cousins as most people
are to their brothers and sisters, and my daughter has seven cousins her age. My friends are always amazed at
it, as well as always welcome. No one usually notices an extra body when there’s that many at a family party!
I live with in West Linn, Oregon. I have a wonderful daughter, Ava Bliss, who I adore and spend as much time with as I can. But she isn’t really why I do what I do…she’s a part, but not the how or why.
In 2002, on December 23 at 1:47 a.m., my phone rang and it was the Washington County police telling me my brother, Matt, was murdered that night. At the time I lived each day not really thinking about my long term direction. Once I felt the devastation and saw what an unexpected death does to a family, it was easy to gravitate to the Financial Services Business. Really, once I took a step back and looked at my life I realized that things had to change. I saw what I ignored financially and the time with Matt that I took for granted, or the time that I didn't (make?) have at all.
Sometimes you don’t know what you missed out on until you’ve missed it. I realize what was important to me and what I missed. I made the realization to modify other aspects of my life moving forward. I now challenge other people to not miss out on what’s important to them and make the effort to live the legacy they want to create and leave a lasting impression on what they did create.
